Two Months Old

Happy two month birthday Stell-bell!  In the last four weeks you've definitely figured out lose little hands are yours and are so curious about them that you put them in your mouth all the time!  Since mommy and daddy were both thumb suckers, I give you another few weeks until sucking on your entire fist become sucking on that thumb!  You love staring into peoples eyes...have mastered face timing with daddy, your grandparents, aunts and uncles...are curious about every surrounding...love your time playing in your play gym...love to stare at your big brother Jack {he's now licking your face}... love to make all kinds of noises and smile!

Slow Down, Little Girl

56 days....

In that timeframe our little princess has managed to wrap mommy and daddy around her big, long fingers and show us a part of our heart we didn't even know existed (well, if I am being honest, that all happened within the first minute she was born)!  It seems like a short time when you put it as 56 days, but she's transformed from a little newborn who couldn't support her own head, slept all day long, didn't make eye contact but still had a million faces and was always moving to a little infant with still those million faces and movements, but now she's added smiling, eye contact, holding her own head, climbing on mom and dad, playing with her little gym, growing hair {interpretation: Toupee + Mullet} and sleeping somewhat through the night {10:30-4pm} all in a matter of a mere 56 days.
Eric took the day off of work to spend her two month "birthday" as a family.  We had a little photoshoot which I will post later along with her monthly collage, but wanted to capture some videos we made over the last few weeks.

5 weeks - So Big!

7 weeks - Dancing to lullabies

8 weeks - Standing up!

Our little ham...

I mean if you are ever having a rough day, just look at this picture. Seriously, I know I am a biased mom, but if this doesn't make you smile, I don't know what would. The dimple, the gigantic smile, I wish I could just bottle this moment up forever!

This week was a big week not only for faces, eye contact, and smiles, but also for Jack's curiosity of Stella and willingness to let me put Stella on his belly to capture a few pictures. Stella's last three nights of sleep she's only gotten up for one feeding, let's hope this is the new normal!

We had a little photoshoot with daddy one day when he got home from work! Stella missed him so much and was really excited to see him.

And here are a few more of her and her faces from this week.

Stella's 6 weeks!

"Hi Everyone, I'm 6 weeks old"
I am beginning to think I am going to start every post with "where has the time gone"... but our little princess had her 6 week birthday yesterday. The past two weeks she's experienced a lot of firsts, of which is the most amazing accomplishment seen above...SMILING in response to Mom/Dad!

Here are a few of her firsts::

Stella's first face time with Daddy.
We've been fortunate that Eric hasn't traveled since she was born but he had delayed the inevitable as long as he could. Being away was probably more hard on Dad than Mom {although I too hated it}. Even though I got minimal sleep and had to pull the mommy and daddy duties, at least I got to see our little princesses face and cuddle with Jack!

First Road Trip

This past weekend we traveled to Green Bay. Eric didn't need to convince me too much when packing up the car to head to green bay that when another little lien comes, this car won't cut it. I am shocked we managed to pack it all in and still have room for Jack to take over shotgun! He did such a good job and was so excited to play in grandma and grandpa's back yard that he threw the car in 3rd gear with his paw and we didn't even know it. Note to self, you go through a lot more gas that way.

First we'll just show one picture of Jack! that sums up the weekend. Tongue out laying on the concrete in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard. He still is worn out!
Now back to Stella's firsts....

She's discovered her toes!
Such a big girl holding her head up. Practicing with Grandpa Jolly and daddy in Green Bay.

Sitting up all on her own with Grandma! Jack looking utterly defeated.

Meeting Great-Grandpa Smits for the first time.

Stella's first Easter!

She's snoozing below with a 31 year old Easter Bunny that Eric got his first Easter!

Stella's first {of many} garage hangouts with Grandpa Jolly!
And sadly, her last "firsts" is growing out of all newborn and some 0-3 month clothes. My absolute favorite outfit is officially too short! She definitely has daddy's long torso. I am going to have to work on the emotions as I pack away her clothes because at the rate she is growing, I am thinking this is going to happen quite often!

One month old!

Our little princess is one month! It's hard to believe what life was like before Stella (except for 8 hrs of sleep!), but its unreal how fast this month has gone.

Happy one month birthday Stell-bell, you've made our lives better in every way imaginable!

XOXO,
Mommy and Daddy
