Stella's 6 Months!

We had such a fun day putting on a tutu and celebrating Stella's six month birthday!  On top of being a smiling little lady she's had so much fun this month learning how to sit up, eat solid foods {sweet potatoes are her favorite}, make new friends at daycare, and babbling up a storm!

Still no teeth but those are sure to be coming soon with the amount of drooling!

A summer of fun with Grandma Lien...

Today was a bittersweet day at the Lien household... after eight amazing weeks of summer fun with Grandma, we've come to the last day of her watching Stella.  We officially have another milestone on monday... her first day of school {daycare technically, but school, or should I say New Horizon's Academy, makes me feel like our money is going towards her learning foreign languages instead of drooling on strangers}.

Grandma Lien, thank you so much for your generosity this summer... it's been so appreciated by Eric, myself and sweet little Stella.  Monday is going to be tough enough at almost 6 months old, I can't even imagine what it would have been at 4 months.  We appreciate all the walks, listening to the ever annoying music of the jumperoo, reading books, playing with toys, helping Stell practice her tricks tricks {sitting up, rolling over}, teaching her how to be a good napper, and all your snuggles.

Here are a handful of pics from the summer!

Grandma taught me to swing!  I loved reading books outside and sitting in my chair.

And...we've got an eater!

At our 4 month appointment, I thought it was crazy when our pediatrician said we'll "just know" when to start solids with Stella... that she'll start grabbing for food when we are eating, not seem satisfied with just a bottle... and I thought there was no way that she would really start to grab for our food, but was I wrong.  Fast forward 5 weeks later and we have a little lady Lien who now has eaten rice cereal as a part of her dinner for the past week!

Here's her video of her first time tasting that stuff:: Stella's First Bite!

Sweet Stella is 5 months!

A week late in posting, but better late than never!  Stella celebrated her 5 month birthday on Jon + Heidi's wedding rehearsal day so we are late in posting!

Stella has had quite the month!  I always tell Eric that I wish we could just keep her the way she is, but each stage truly is just getting more and more fun.  I  just can't believe how much she's changing on what it seems like a daily basis.  She's really loved her time during the days with Grandma Lien, and we love that she is in good hands.  She's helped Grandma with projects for Grandma's school, learned lots of new songs, read lots of books, taken lots of walks and shared a lot of smiles.

Stell was quite excited for her first trip to the cottage!  Here is a slideshow of the fun weekend::

She's been a really good sleeper, still sleeping through the night... and Grandma Lien has gotten her to be a decent little napper! (well, she still has her days of 20 minute naps here and there!).  She's moved from 4 naps a day to 3, and soon I am thinking we are going to get down to 2!

I think last month I commented on how Stella likes her Jumperoo but her feet couldn't quite touch... well, what a difference four weeks makes.  She loves her jumperoo and has taught herself how to bounce up and down!

As emotional as I've been getting putting away her clothes when she outgrows them {feels like daily}... we've now turned to putting away some of her staples we had used from the day she was born.  She's just outgrown being content in any of them!  No more rocker, swing or play yard.  Sad!!!  She loves her Sophie still and sucking on her blankets!  We've also graduated to sitting in the stroller like a big girl!

But most of all, her favorite thing this month has been her.... FEET... and boy do those piglets taste yummy!

Stel is now a little rolling machine!  She mostly only rolls from her back to tummy but when she's on her tummy she loves raising her head and kicking.  She will also scoot on her tummy to get a toy.  She's going to be all over the place in a matter of no time I think! I think she's found her sleeping position sleeping on her tummy as well.

Jack and her continue to figure each other out.  Jack's daily routine involves lots of licks for Stella, but what we noticed a lot this month is how much Stella looks for Jack and actually puts her arms out to reach for him.  She smiles when he gives her doggy kisses!

Speaking of smiles, she is just been a really happy baby!  As hard as its been to go back to work, walking through the doors and see her smile at me makes it all worth it.  Somedays she's more talkative then others but we're working on laughing a lot too!

Her lovely Aunties introduced her to her new obsession which is sucking on things that are cold.... maybe teething soon??

Next month I wouldn't be surprised if we had a little lady who is sitting up...she's trying really hard!

Happy birthday little princess... what a fun month it's been!
